Is the sandalwood in your Kanna Tincture sourced ethically and sustainably?Updated 17 days ago
Yes. In 1998 Indian sandalwood (Santalum album) was added to the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) vulnerable species due to illegal harvesting an over-poaching in its native lands. Our sandalwood is plantation-grown in Australia by a company that supplies sustainable and full traceable premium sandalwood without the use of growth enhancers, and is a founding signatory of the IFRA-IOFI sustainability charter. 80% of their energy used is derived from a renewable source and they are currently trialing biochar use to further cut down on greenhouse gas emissions and reduce their carbon footprint.
